It comes across as totally insincere and fake...an empty compliment used to try and make the person like you more.

IHPF obviously doesn't think she's anything special so who am I to contradict that?!
some people are beautiful because of their personality yknow?

Omg and we can all sit around and watch them have a candlelit lunch in the quad.

It'll be awkwardly awesome.

1100/1500.
Except I've already written it down and just need to type up the rest.

And FP, you should drink water. Dehydration is the main cause of headaches. That's the only thing I learnt from two years of bio.

Edit: 1496/1500.
I am awesommme.

Goodnight loves!

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread

hey guys,

honest question here:

a mate of mine is considering just using a reworded thesis of an essay previously written by another friend of ours.

is this advisable, specifically in the arts department, provided the two have different tutors?

It's highly advisable. They'll never be able to tell.

Oh and Neb if you've seen her you can tell us alllllllll about her.
Did you not see the word apparently, foo? I sure as hell didn't know about it when I say this mystery woman, but IHPF subsequently reports that I saw her...or something.

No.

Benefit: getting an OK mark and possibly passing the course
Cost: getting caught for plagiarism and failing the subject, and facing other disciplinary proceedings

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread

Can the university through course structures make it mandatory to cover proper referencing styles? I mean, today I was trying to find an example that shows how to reference a translated text, and I couldn't find anything... It wouldn't take much, maybe devote 1 tutorial and provide a proper guide to referencing styles. The other thing is the faculties should get together and agree on a fricken standard. It's not only different faculty to faculty, but even subjects in the same faculty! ORGANISATION!

It's absolutely retarded. I mean, although it takes me forever, I actually think I do a good job with referencing yet still get a crappy mark, usually in the 'satisfactory' column. How are students suppose to juggle 5 different referencing styles, and expect them to be PERFECT 100% of the time?

Yeah i always follow their shitty online guides yet they always find something wrong, even if it's not on the website.
Before i went to uni i had never even written a bibliography. It's fucking hard to learn right off their guides.
That said the history one is like a 20 page pdf file so they have most bases covered.
