Phil is terrible.
Government is much much much better.

i enjoy both and do moderately well at both, but i'm incredibly annoyed by the wanky subject matter of philosophy.

Agreed.
I only ever did one philosophy subject last year and I hated it. While I did enjoy the discussions in tutorials. But like you said, it was just too wanky.

Personally, I find Government subjects to be more interesting and also more substantial.

you've only done 1 govt unit so far, yeah? so you have to do another atrocious junior unit before you can move on to awesome senior govt. have fun with that.

I am reaaallly looking forward to senior government next semester.
So far I have chosen Ethics & Politics and Australian Foreign Defence policy.

not sure yet, dont even know how many govt units im doing next sem. im tempted by environmental politics, because i think charlotte epstein teaches it, and when she gave a guest lecture a couple of weeks ago she shut down two annoying douchebags who always ask stupid questions during lectures, so i love her. other than that social change and politics and the one about islam look interesting.
