1500 words. it's actually turning out to be an interesting assignment.

did you know that 50% of men playing everquest online use female characters, whilst only 25% of women playing everquest online use male characters?

Re: Semester 1 Chatter Thread

women are significantly more likely to donate coins to female beggars than male beggars in everquest. However, if the beggar is an ogre, regardless of gender, they're signficantly less likely to donate to them compared to elves and the short people, whatever they're called.

Interesting!
Sounds like you're going to nail the assignment.

some everquest gamer did a study. large sample size, good questions, but he could have done more correlation analysis between questions.

Lol that's what I thought for the last one. This one is much worse, though. I don't actually talk about 'the ways in which gender is represented within media', but rather how people can represent their own gender through video games, and how video games allows for the freedom of choice. Originally, I was going to talk about how tomb raider's lara croft is one of the only women-heroes in gayming, but even she is based on an ideal woman for men: big boobs, large vagina, etc.

Won't really be able to fit that in, though.

I still think you're answering the question, you'll definitely get top marks for 'originality of argument'.
