I've only really done the lit review part of the research project.

It's a long long tunnel to the end of semester, but the light at the end is so pretty.

Are 4-5k word papers common in senior units?

I've never seen a 4-5000wd essay for a SCLG2XXX subject. There are only two SCLG3XXX subjects, with SCLG3601 requiring a 4000wd essay. SCLG3602 only has a mere 3000wd reseach proposal.


AFAIK, anything over 3000wds is pretty uncommon in the arts department.

same thing goes for other faculties. 5k words is excessive. that's 1/3rd of an honours thesis

Most i've had was 3000 words. Most major essays i've had have been 2000-2500
