Heh, my teacher just said if they ask, say that we lined everyone up, and then promoted someone to the valence band (ie moved them outta the line) and then that leaves a hole and the electrons can migrate...
It's a very dodgy dot point. I'd be surprised if they ask it...

We used a doctors office thing.. patients waiting to go in, first patient gets called everyone moves up seats and the last one is empty, new patient comes, another patient is called in and it all happens again..
