American Health System is the best in the world. Australia is shit. I wanted to see a dermatologist, i need to be referred by my GP then i have to wait 50 days just to see a bloody dermatologist, ONLY in australia. In USA i could have seen it when I want it, when I need it and when I feel like it.

50 days? In the public system, maybe, but at least you're guaranteed to see one even if you can't afford it. If you want to jump the cue you can just pay for private health insurance. In the U.S. the ONLY option is private health insurance (the really crap public healthcare you get if you're dirt-poor is hardly comparable to the Australian system).

Sicko has just officially been banned in Cuba, being labelled as "subversive".

It seems that several Cubans have questioned why they weren't getting the kind of 'amazing' health care shown in the film.
Moore manipulating the facts once again

Uh, source?

Moore was trying to demonstrate that Cuba has health care, in a literal sense. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I presume the point Moore was trying to make is that his rescue workers would receive medical attention in Cuba regardless of their health insurance plan (or lack thereof) as opposted to the US where piles of red tape and corporate greed bars you from receiving required surgery (if you lack health insurance)

I doubt Moore would infer that the actual quality of Cuba's medical facilities rivals those of the United States.

I think Moore's comparing the US system to the French and Cuban systems was pointless. France has an extremely generous social security system that is non-existant in most Anglo, English speaking countries.

Its horrible that in the US health care is completely a profit based industry and the govt doesnt provide any subsidies or assistance to disadvantaged Americans.

I have no problem with wealthy people paying for private health insurance. By moving people from public health care to a private system it also helps the poor by reducing waiting and administrative time in the public system.

I watched it, pretty damned interesting and not really that biased like Fahrenheit, only because its pertty much widely understood that USA's healthcare system is shoddy and corrupt as fuck.
