Can we have a restriction or something, some people have signatures that go on and on for like half a screen, and scrolling tires my middle finger :p

wtf is this thing called dial-up?

anyways, I guess you can make this thread the signature complaint thread and post members which you want to reduce their signature so the admins are aware.

yeah, another example is JKDDragon.

:chainsaw:

blah, what need is there of making such big sigs? It expands the whole page for me, and its annoying.
I mean, sure, its _mildly_ amusing the first time, after that its just a pain in the arse.
:(

Well, at other forums I have membership at, they don't allow pictures in the sig, and some limit the signature to about 100 pixels in height, so maybe we could introduce some kind of limit.

Grey Council, if you had a problem with my signiture, all you had to do was PM and ask, instead of discussing this behind my back. Would of been solved much quicker.

Anyway, I took out the super large pic so you better be happy.

maybe coucil didnt take a particular annoyrance personally, or couldnt really give a shit, but thought that your sig was relatively large?
edit: i take that back...i re-read the posts.

maybe it wasnt the effort to PM?

btw, people can disable sigs if they want.

yeh.. common sense tells me it would be useful reading the entire thread before posting redrum.

Remove pictures from signatures - we already have avatars.

Limit the amount of text to 5 lines and/or a certain amount of characters.

It's painful when you have two people with really long signatures posting multiple times in a thread... yuck!

my apologies, was not meant to be directed straight at you.

lol, I'd just seen your sig in another forum, kinda complained to a mod, and she told me to post up here. So I posted up first example.

I mean, I didn't direct it at you, was following direction of the thread. "Can we have a restriction or something"

once again, sorry. Was not aimed at you, and if it sounded like it was, entirely my fault.

I've limited signatures to a maximum of one image.

Unfortunately, there's no easy way to restrict the number of lines or the size of the image.

Just notify one of us when a signature seems disproportionately large and we'll deal with it.

I've had to revoke this change - it, unfortunately, also limited the number of smilies that can be included in a post.

And we can't have that. ;)

You could in theory limit pictures by prohibiting linking to off-site images and only allowing those that are uploaded to be displayed (and imposing a KB limit per user/signature)?

Lazarus: were you the one that changed my siggy? I couldn't be bothered re-changing it as yet. My siggy was just text based, I didn't find a problem with it, but 2 of the quotes were wiped out. Is it too long? :)

If it was changed, someone important deemed it to be too long, yes. :)

It's how the most of the country, about everyone who doesn't live in a big city, gets onto the internet.
