Screens probably fucked, either that or your gfx card, or some sort of connection along the way, whatever it is its going to be too hard for us to find out because its a laptop and you cant just switch parts out. Send it to a profesional. The only things we can really fix here and software related, or telling you which parts are fucked so you can go and replace them. Because its a laptop it doesnt make that much difference which part is fucked, because to replace it will cost nearly as much as you bought it for.
Oh hell.

I just got the same problem on my laptop, except I'm fairly sure it's the cable ribbon (ie when I move the screen back and forth it changes colour (red/blue/green shade) or it gets more blurry).

And only two months ago the CD Drive died.

It's annoying though. It's a compaq and it's not like its old. Perhaps 2 years. Or is that the life-expectancy nowadays? :(

It's timing is just right though. Uni is now in full swing and my laptop gets upset.

Um, ok.

the strangest thing just happened.

Since i last posted in this thread nothing has changed with my screen. I've had the computer sitting at my desk, on AC power because my battery is rooted. TODAY, however, i took the laptop to uni, plugged it in, switched it on and "hey presto!" the screen is absolutely perfect again.
I'm thinking the little bit of movement it experienced in my backpack (not loads because i was fairly careful) has moved a loose connection back into it's right place.

It's weird, but as long as it stays like this i can sell it as a fully functioning computer minus a properly working battery, right?

Cracked LCD

Back to summertime.
It was almost six months to the day.
Eyes clock to his hand.
Liquid crystals on his watch catch rays
of morning peeking through.
Moving the pillows out of the way.
Tries to make the time.
Falls asleep with his watch on again.

Cracked LCD

He has got
last year's summertime (the one she liked)
on daylight saving time,
Hoping that the world catch up with him
before he catches her.
It happens once a year.
She'd better run.
Was summertime for all.
Alpine retreat off the A40.

Cracked LCD (2x)

Rising out of the slopes.
Plastic snow and wooden trees surround.
She felt they had it all.
Pulling curtains over dreamy face
Sealing off the globe.
Waiting for a spark to start the fire.
