i bearly studied for the hsc...maybe like 5 hours maximum. My ranks are:

Legal:4/30 something
Eco:2/9
Maths:16/40 something
English:13/38?
ancients:2/20 something

Do you reckon if i get around 70-80 in the hsc papers i would get around 80 uai or so?

No CHANCE, nah just kill externals. 5 hours is plenty, Trust me, if they are quality hours its all good.

Has everyone here got their ranks already?

Cos I know that, with exception for the people who came first rank in subjects in my school, no one knows their ranks. Even the seconds dunno their ranks -.-

Everyone from our school got their reports in the holidays (inc. ranks). I got:
1/9 2u maths
1/2 ext1 maths
1/13 chemistry
1/6 physics
1/9 SDD
4/24 adv. english

but my school is pretty dumb, so these ranks dont really mean much

Yeah we were all given our ranks in our reports

Standard English 1/51
Biology 1/9
Info Tech 3/12
IPT 1/3 haha
Mathematics 5/17 (including extension class)

I'm pretty happy with mine but i don't go to a "Fantastic" school...

To the original poster, yeah you have as good a shot as most of us, you will probably need marks 75-80 minimum for most subjects (maybe higher) for a uai over 80

*Sigh, the report the school gave me was the ranks for the trials. And I'm certain of that cos the marks on my report were the exact same marks as my trial marks -.-

*Wants to stab the school

the ranks you got on your report should've been your trial marks...
the teachers cant legally tell you your overall rank nor can they tell you your school assessment mark...
you're allowed to find out your rank after hsc but you're not supposed to ever know your school assessment mark however you can easily work it out by using the weightings of each assessment

Well considering I'm the only student in 3 of my classes I'm pretty sure what my rank is for those. And I know I ranked first in my other subjects because noone else had assessment marks anywhere near mine... i figured imy assessment marks out to a roundabout figure for each subject.
Then, my teachers told me everything anyways. lol.

5 hours a day is not 'barely studied.'

5 hours is a good day for me.

yes but you'll need a couple of 80's at least.

You'd want to be closer to 80 than 70...and then it really depends on how the rest of your cohort goes. Do well in maths and legal (80-90/120 raw and 75% raw) and you'd have a shot.

Probably want to do a little more study though. (but if you mean 5hrs/day thats fine)

i dont get it.... why, after spending so much time at school, just throw your HSC away? 5 hours all up is no where near good enough!
