Yeah actualy surprisingly well. The Cold War questions were unexpected, very hard but ok. Germany was good and personalities was perfect! I might get high 80's raw without ever opening a history text book ever :|

Hell yes!!! The questions were exactly what I wanted. I realised I had too little time to learn everything so i basically memorised certain essays (of which some where from the chick who got 6th last year). It was very risky and I could have been screwed if they asked for something else but they didn't and it's over!!!

i totally dominated 75% of the paper.....i found the germany questions hard. but the personality i would have got 100% or close to, and section 4 (pacific for me) i think about 90%. and part I of course everyone thought was easy, its always generic so every1 should have gone well on that.

congrats to everyone, its over, and one day closer to the finish line!!!!

yes the test was good. the source questions were the same as my tirals too. well almost, about the yanks. as for germany i was dissapointed there was no foreigh policy question but i manged a good 8 pages on how nationalism was the undermining cause of weimars failure. as for persoanlites the first one was simple but the second took a bit of thinking to get pen to paper. i was so cut that there was no cambodia question though, that is my thing lol. but i did go crapping on about how the americans failed to seperate nationalism and communism.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

extremely happy

It was sooooooo awesome!
RUSSIA WAS AWESOME!
PERSONALITIES AWESOME!
CONFLICT IN EUROPE AWESOME!

All of the essays were exactly what we did in various assessment tasks and the WW1 stuff was easy easy easy ^_^

So much better than what anyone expected i think.

I'm feeling pretty good about this exam. I'd done virtually the same for the Conflict in Europe question as a practice essay recently which was pretty awesome.

For the Germany question, what aspects did you have to discuss about nationalism??

I think the exam seemed to be good.

The personality question suited Leni Riefenstahl to a tee, the German question was probably the toughest part of the paper but certainly not hard and the cold war was nice and broad too.

For the nationalism in Germany i talk about how the socialist policies weren't supported by the army who was nationalist.

How structural weaknesses of the weimar constition helped the armies natioanlist cause.

How inflation was increase due to nationalism i.e shift to the right from SPD to DVP.

How Hitler was a nationalist and appealed to both the army and those suffering from the depression and how obviously Hitler's regime ended democracy

soooo good. I was hoping for a foreign policy question for germany, but i coped with the racist polic Q. Did anyone else do that? it seems you all did nationalism. WWI was da bomb, i rekon i could have got full marks. personalities for speer was a good question. And the arab israeli questions were fair too. I duno how my school will scale me, but im first so it shouldnt be too bad if i came first. There were only 5 people remaining out of about 18 at the end of the exam lol!

these are what i did...ther was a little freedom there. I hated the question though, its pretty much the same as the sample paper so I didn't expect it at all

the failure of weimar to build up support was a variety of reasons, hyperinflation, falws in constitution and the nationalist opposition of the anti-repiblicans, military, kapp putsch nazis

I focused on the nationalistic aspects of hitler's accession as chancellor and the assess worked in that there are other factors, especially circumstances that contributed to this

and i picked up on going to 1934 so I did the legality of the enabling act and the influence of nationalism using the day of potsdam as evidence.,.. flimsy weak argument i kno, i'd give me 16/25 for it...i'm so bummed out

I really like farked it.....ppl have bitched abt germany question here and someones unleashed on the arba isaeli question..yay for me i do both and sadly I think I did better on that than part b on the personality....I think its a disadvantage to be a history extesnion student because I approached it that way and looked at why my historians have different views on Arafat...hoping for markers to pick up on that and kno im not too bad at it, but i think thats just to much hoping...upside though i dont think i screwed up WWI

Ditto to most of the comments.
Quite a nice exam...I found Cold War a little odd, but that was always going to be the section that could trip me up, but i think i pulled it off.
I don't know if it was just my school...but we were given 4 page writing booklets for Sections 2 and 4 and an 8 for section 3...does anyone else wonder why they did that? Seriously...four pages for an essay...

I answered the Racial policy question

1. presence of anti-semitism that hitler exploited
2. Precedent for the policies in Mein Kampf
3. Propaganda, terror, repression and Myth of the Fuhrer used in order to squash Jewish uprising and make the German people complicit.
4. Keeping the support of the people was intrumental in implimentation - done by image of hitler - hitler/nazi paradox.
5. Kristallnacht represented change from legislative to violent policy. Was this due to Hitlers ideological plan or the Structuralist theory of "spiralling radicalism?"

And the 1948 Arab Israeli question

1. The outcome of the war:
a) Israel feels like the triumphant underdog. Policy of disproportionate military responses from here. Influences reprisals
b) The refugee problem leads to palestinian nationalism and guerilla war fare.
c) Arab pride is hurt by the imperialism that Israel and its western allies represent. Leads to Nasser and the suez... leads to pan-arab nationalism... leads to threats towards israel.

2. A combination of historians views of causes for 6 day war show how all these factors influenced it.
a) Israels pre-emptive strike - Israels defence policy - and satisfies Arab views of expansion/imperialism
b) Arabs used fear of Israeli reprisals to guerilla attacks as an excuse for moving into sinai etc etc
c) Nasser had something to prove

3) This war led to occupation of the territories... led to terrorism etc etc. Also led to territorial claims that would counter peace and led to 242

ALL STEMMING FROM THE FIRST WAR.
