so what do we need for uni (1 Viewer)

i know, it sounds like a dumb question but i'm the first one from my family to go to uni (in aust anyway) and i have no idea what i need to take to uni with me tomorrow.

all i have ready is pens and lecture pads

can anyone tell me any more of the basics i should have with me?

That is all you need.

That's pretty much all you'll need for Week 1. If your course has lecture notes online or in a booklet for you to buy, then after Week 1 you should probably take those along with you too. Usually the Week 1 lectures are introductory ones, so they'll tell you about the subject and perhaps start with an introductory lecture too, so you'll just need to take basic notes.

Yep, just a notebook and pen will do. Your first lectures will give you an overview of what things you may need to get after week 1 (textbooks/reading material). The lecturers in the first few subjects I did even printed out the lecture notes the first one or two weeks before they put it up on Blackboard or WebCT, so you don't have to worry about that either.

Bring bottled drinks too for lectures just make sure they are not too cold and wet your bag.

I think lunchboxes are OK... just try to be inconspicuous about it. I would say avoid bringing a Barbie or Thomas the Tank Engine one to uni...
