Well that will certainly be a nice change from UNSW.

I transfered from UNSW B Computer Engineering to B Business&Commerce at UWS parra campus 1 yr ago. I can tell you something

Those campus on campeltown, blacktown, penrith are nice, but If you want to go to parra campus that's different case, that place has nothing, lack of facilities, not much of societies to join...... i go there bcos it's closer to my home.

depends on what you mean by 'facilities' tho... the only thing major i guess that's missing is a gym...

but everything else you need is there.. not to mention that parra is the campus that got the massive nice new building rather than other campuses

parra's good too tho coz it's small but not too small and it's not as damn hot as penrith in summer lol

Pity the nicest campus is the penrith one that no one really uses except all the admin people and teh VC and stuff - lotsa pretty trees and flowers and stuff around there unlike most the other campuses.. although noticeably they are fixing all that kinda stuff up around parra and blacktown to an extent too..

As a law student, I am taught to deal with facts. A fact has been shown and you dimiss it.

What are your personal achievements? That's what an employer wants. They don't care that your university has new buildings or how big the carpark is. You are going for the job, not your university.

Put it this way. If I was a customer or client, I would never like anyone passing judgment on me. It would make me feel uncomfortable and certainly would not be a good impression on you.

You may be an elite (or you make out you are) but you are nothing without the results you personally achieve. I can account for one, a smart arse with nothing better to do. You would go a long way in an office at ALP hq.

I am in the Liberals and have very good connections with politicians and office-holders. Even if I do attend UWS, I still hold this links.

I am going to leave it mate. You say you are smarter than me - fine. I never say to anyone I am smarter than them. Even if I am, my word is nothing without proof. And besides, I like to be a gentleman when I talk to people. You lack that quality, so no matter how many post-nominals you have after your name, I don't like the way you come across.

One great thing about UWS Law is teaching students about client-interviewing. Even smart people can have major problems here. You might think it is simple, but its a hard task. The advantage of UWS is being able to realise this important skill early in your degree, so you don't turn pompous like our friend politik, who although may work for a top accounting firm will never have many friends, will not satisfy his clients and certainly will have great problems being endorsed by the Liberal party at any election. Remember politik, the electorate is made up of people who are not in the elite.

ive been here for 2yrs and its a shit hole, theres nothing to do and social life is pretty crap, u got a lot of muslims on this campus and there always preaching outside the main building.

Heres a tip. Dont come to UWS.

I'd say BIT Information Technology Support (I can think of a Certificate IV AQF Tafe Course that offers the same status/qualification), BIT and BComputing could be encompassed into useful degrees (or at least better sounding ones) a la UNSW; BComputer Science, BComputer Engineering BSoftware Engineering, BInformation Systems or UTS; BIT/BSciIT.

Actually that BIT course is similar to B Science(information system) at UNSW. I can only agree that those students graduate from UNSW engineering, advance science are elits(but not those ppl currently enrol in it and bludge all day). I remember in UNSW CSE we got those professors graduate from MIT, Stanford, UC Berkerly....and school of Maths. (it ranked 14th in the world on research publication). But areas such as Arts, social science, aren't much better than UWS (I wouldn't feel superior if I enrol in these courses at UNSW). In fact, most of people in my old faculty (CSE) look down at people doing commerce, arts, and social science. lol

How are five degrees with different names more specialised than an all encompassing BCom/BEc with 10+ majors? The majors show up on your degree you know.

And I can bet a BCom/BEc (Lib) at UNSW/USYD is much, much more flexible than a BBusiness (or insert major name in degree title here) at UWS. A BCom/BEc can be majored, double-majored, major-minored, triple-majored with a second degree, triple-majored-single minored with a second degree, and majored-double minored. That and the ability for UNSW students to study General Education subjects from any faculty on campus. Oh, and any student can study any course across the University, regardless of program.


And please don't throw that useless 'the students make the university' crap at me.

The course i'm doing now(B Business&Commerce) can have 15+ majors to choose, with double-majored, major-minored. You can combine with a second degree (ie. B Law, B Arts). The entrance score for business&commerce at parra campus isn't low either, it was UAI 87 when I started doing this course at Parramatta campus.

BTW, the GenEd(general education subjects) of UNSW was really a joke :rofl: , all my friends and I bludged the whole sem, and we didn't even come to final exam, and we got credits. lol, You'll know it when you doing them next year!
