How are you at socialising?

I for one need a lesson or two but my mates are all the life of the party. How do you perform at parties. Do you dance up a storm or are you more interested in taking that special someone to a dark corner.

its different everynight.. just do what the night permits.. and yeah go with the flow.. its not as fun if things are premeditated... sometimes a d&m wid one person is cool but other times just going off is better...

I, like so many year 12 students, am making the most of house parties this year because we know that when school finishes, they become very few and far between.

As for the introvert/extrovert thing, if you're at a party with a heap of your friends and having an awesome time, maybe the alco is flowing like the Nile, then everyone's an extrovert. Those are the parties that everyone remembers.

I am also resigned to the fact that this will affect my UAI. Goodbye 99.6. I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

BTW I'm sure even the extroverts here would rather take that special someone to a dark corner than dance. :p

Definitely an introvert. Have always been one.
And I think I may be perfectly eligible for the title "anti social".

Oh geez that explains it all.
The sudden speech impediment when talking is required to carry on a conversation.
The stupid things that always seem to replace the ones I have in mind (not that the ones I have in mind are necessarily better).

why oh why; I out of the abundant hormone driven two-legged creatures.
ahem...

however it doesn't mean I have no friends. I have good friends. Who are good. And often try to bring me out of my non-social intentions.

Still, watching and listening to people are fun. Interesting. A lot of people are very social but sometimes they can be so blind and deaf in the midst of all the smiles and superficial conversations.
Sometimes too people are scary. They can seem so carnivorous (instead of herbivorous or omnivorous).

So....I can now draw the conclusion that evidently...I am nuts. :D

I'm an introvert also.

Everytime I go out to a party or an event of somesought, I am always the one least likely to strike up a conversation.

But thats okay. I find it easier to listen to conversations than to take part in them.

Same, I have many friends and they try to cure me of my anti-social nature. One mate continuously tries to get me to dance parties while another thinks its his mission in life to get me pissed (I've never touched alcohol).

But hey, If I'm happy. So be it.

Yeah, listening to conversation is so much easier. and...more interesting in a way.

What is so perverse about listening to a conversation.

I know, by listening to my mates speak, each of their weaknesses; strengths; desires etc.

Also, I'm known as someone you can come and tell your worries too. I like that status.

Dancing? I am the only one of my friends who dances at parties. I always try and drag them to the dance floor, but usually fail. The won't move at all if they're even remotely sober. However one time i managed to get a friend to dance, although i wish i hadn't, it was embarassing.

same here.

I guess if you didn't know me, youd think I was hell shy (and I guess I am), but if Im good friends with you its another case altogether and sometimes I never shut up.

Then when I start drinking (hmm, Ive swore alcohol at least until this weekend, last sat night was disaster central). Hmm, drinking, make me really extroverted or just wanna sit on the couch and talk. errrrrrr I dont know, just whatever mood Im in, is what it comes down to.

i think im pretty extroverted, but that doesnt mean i need to get out and be with people to feel good about myself - i need heaps of time to myself or i get overloaded. and i dunno about others bu i for one'd rather sit and have a good conversation with a few friends then go to a party and get pissed and stumble around aimlessly (even if the covnersation is drug or salchohol induced)

Dancing naked in the moonlight (can't handle it? d
Im a MASSIVE extrovert. I'll talk to anybody, I'm usually the first one dancing at parties, I'm the first one to know everyone in a room during parties...and all this WITHOUT alcohol.

I don't really drink much at all. I try not to, because I'm just awful and emotional when smashed. At parties, I tend to mingle and dance. Mingle and dance. Mingle and dance...and mingle some more :D (My party tips: Carry round food!! Make instant friends!! Everyone loves food!!)
And apparently I flirt a lot...I don't notice it, but my friends accuse me of it all the time! My best friend said its bc I'm a naturally bubbly person. I dunno though...I enjoy time to myself heaps. I don't need people to feel worthy. I jsust don't have problems when they're around.

But yeah, I disagree that everyone's half half. I've never had a problem with being shy...which sometimes has SERIOUS repercussions when you realise what you've just said.

See now I'm the absolute opposite.

The last party I attended was my own private get together with my closest friends.

That sounds really sad.
