Maybe I'm completely blind but I couldn't find a discussion forum on WebCT for this subject.
Anyone doing sociology this year? To people doing SCLG 1001, have you started your essay? What question are you doing? I'm leaning towards the modernity question myself.
And what the fuck is going on with that Library Research Task?

Hey! Im doing sociology too

Im planning on starting my sociology essay on monday (reading sources) and then write it on tues and wed. Im doing the heteronormativity one (lol im such a fag ._.)

I wish theyd hurry up with the library task marking - I was under the impression that it was marked by the computer automatically, so why is it taking so long (

Ummm I think I might go with the power one 'maybe' or the modernity one...they all seem pretty hard And there's so much to read!

Yeah that library task...tsk tsk. I think they might be taking long cause they had to fix the system up cause you know how they closed submissions early etc etc...so maybe that's why.

I was thinking the same thing! Oh well, I did mine in 20 minutes during a break, which was pretty stupid. I've just realised that we haven't got that much time left to do this essay. It's not very supposed to be very lengthy but I think that you would need to do a lot of reading for it to turn out decent. Did anyone go to the library research lecture? That put me to sleep so quick, I think it was a record.
I think some of the essay questions are a bit vague and open for interpretation, and hence there is plenty of room for misjudgement and getting things completely wrong :s. Maybe its not such a bad thing that that research task was worth 20%..

Its due May 12th...so a little under four weeks till its due

haha...I didnt go to the research lecture....on thursdays i only have sociology on and I wasnt treking all the way in just to be told how to use the catalogue

i get credit for sociology so i could have done 2nd year socio this year but instead i opted to do some phil units bad idea. oh well. Pol and hera if uz need help on marx and durkheim i did an essay on them and got a HD and a D for en essay on deviance so ill help u if u need help.

. Yeah, I would've loved to have done Philosophy too. But I only have room for two straight majors for arts (cos of Psychology being a B listed subject or something).

OMG the library skills test results aree in! After more than a month! hehe I sent 30 mins on it and got 88.4% (??how the hell did i get that 0.4%) which is like HD. Fuck yeah.
But I guess the average would be like 95%.

Where the hell did the point 1 come from?? Did they change the raw mark to an aligned mark or something (has horror flashbacks to when trying to understand HSC marking system)

How are you guys going with your essays? I'm doing the socialisation Q. 400 words to go. I'm totally writing it as I research which is a pretty shitty way to do things but I can't afford to invest any more time in it with other essays etc
