Well, what you will hear, you may think..shit!

Anyways my internet hadnt been working for about 2 days and looking outside at the weather i thought... Ahhh must be the wind and a connection broken outside. I decided to confirm this by rining up Optus and gave all my details. It turns out my account was banned for sharing software.... Photoshop, Illustrator were the ones named... I could have been fined or prosectued for software piracy and breach of copyright. AND this is not an invasion of privacy. They can do it to anyone! My advice do NOT share software on Kazza or P2P. Even Mp3's may be etch. Anyways that was my warning... So I will never do it again

Yes, that's why you don't share them. You just list what you have, then burn onto cd's cos they're so damn cheap it's not funny!!!

I'm not sure if the ISP is bothred to check if you have a freeware program and some pirated one zipped together, and encrypted. By encrypted, i mean VERY WELL ENCRYPTED.

Besides, you ppl are still at school. Make the most of it!

You are supplying jobs by pirating stuff =P

lol...

If I didnt have a limit, I'd be d/l a LOT of 'that' sorta stuff

I found out that certain people in the Commerce & Economics society office at UNSW have been abusing bandwith in the office (ie downloading copious amounts of Divx movies (about 700MB a pop)

it would be probaly due to our population, easier to catch people here compared to lets say american or japan.

Ah!

Thanks for the tip! I got a nasty letter for downloading anime. I just rang up and said: they're not licensed in Australia yet and A.D.V. hasn't bothered wth the English langugage versions yet. Then I told them I needed it for school as it would help my Japanese. I also said I don't bother downloading licensed anime as it's about 100 times easier to wander down to the video shop and pick it up to rent.

I usually get pirated software (if I get any) on a cd from people with dsl, so I don't bother with KaZaA.

at the end of the new Sony Net-MD TV ad, the one with two AzN guys battling each other break-dancing, there's a small caveat:

Illegal Music Robs Artists

lol "shareware" ?

the AFP (australian federal police) will actually come instead, acting on behalf of the DOJ (justice department) if they've organised global 'crackdowns' and/or early morning raids

not that i would know, of course ;)
be prepared to be cautioned, and/or have your computer+equipment (they dont take peripherals lol) taken as evidence ... *whistles*
