Hi all, im doing a research project on the solvay process at the moment, does anyone have any good link/source on the solvay process and the use of sodium carbonate?

Also can someone please tell me the formula of removing sulfur dioxide from flue gas with sodium carbonate? Thanks in advance! :)

If your confused about the whole process, have you looked at my summary?

It has detailed description of each process, including equations.

The Solvay Process was a focus in the old (pre-2017) NSW Chemistry syllabus. If you can get hold of a copy of the old Jacaranda Chemistry Year 12 textbook by Thickett, you will find about 5 pages of detailed description of the Solvay Process. Australia once had a Solvay plant at Osborne, in South Australia but it closed a long time ago.
Millions of tonnes of sodium carbonate (in the form of soda ash) are used throughout the world for glass manufacture, soaps and detergents and manufacture of sodium hydrogen carbonate (baking soda).
