Hi,

I'm currently doing 14 units in my prelim year and i want to drop a 2 unit subject to reach 12 units however I don't know which subject as to drop as I;

a) have not had enough exposure to my subjects
b) am considering possible future workloads in relation to utility of subject
and c) my future interests

My subjects are;

English Advanced
English Ext. 1
2U Maths
Maths Ext. 1
Physics
Chemistry
Business
Economics

Anyways, I want to drop one subject either Chemistry , Physics, Business or Eco and what i want to know is any advice and possibly what i can expect from each subject so i can look at my choices, I have contemplated on dropping Physics as it is boring as of current (only learning about sig figs and sine curve graphs) however I did say i would do something in engineering but right now i have lost thought of it and not too sure. Also i enjoy Eco and business seems a little dry but i thought if i dropped Business, all my subjects will have an extremely high workload and i might burnout. I also picked Chem because AH was full and i enjoyed the topic in year 10 but don't know about senior years.

Any advice?

And yes, i do understand i should base my choice upon myself and what I think but i just want to consider everything.

1.Have a look at HSC notes and the HSC syllabus for the respective subjects
2. Wait longer (a term or even longer?) before dropping
3. If you are considering entering a university in a different state, have a look to see if they have any prerequisites.
4.What career paths are you considering?
5. What degrees are you considering?
6. What fields are you more interested in?
7.Past performances of previous HSC cohorts performance in external HSC exams
8. Rank/s
9.Quality of teacher? Are they a HSC marker?
