I'm solving questions, where you prove congrunece/similarity and then find x etc. I can do all that fine, up until the below (I obviously can't get it right).

The equation circle3d is the one I'm having troublw wth, such as where does the -4(1) come from???

I also have a random question.

Equidistant means that the angles the same distant in length or apart etc, right?

Thanks for any help.

Not sure on what the question is...but -4(1) comes from quadratic formula.

If ax^2 + bx + c = 0

Then

x = [ -b +/- rt(b^2 -4ac) ] / 2a

The negative solution is ignored because you are calculating an area.

Equidistant = same length

For example...all points on the edge of a circle are equidistant from the centre.

The important thing is remembering: b^2 - 4ac
where a = 1
b = 6
c= -7.84

So b^2 - 4ac = (6)^2 -(4)(1)(-7.84)
