Isn't that the ultimate need for all living things? To reproduce and keep the species alive. Thinking about sex totally natural and thus wanting to get laid is nothign to be ashamed of for a bloke.

And for the record I have plenty of ambition. I want to make Australia's first fusion power plant. I want to get the University medal in Mechanical Engineering/Physics and/or Maths. And most importantly I want to get laid as often as physically possible.

Come on, seriously, we're not even 20 yet. Life has yet to begin, why waste it on huge long relationships when you could be shopping around, honing your skills and having fun at the same time.

Life is about fun. Goals are great, but you can't have a crap life.

yes, true, ultimately, reproduce, yaddi yaddi yadda...
but sex is spoken in such a way that it is no longer simply the need to reproduce, it's now somewhat a symbol of power. when or how did things change? sex is supposed to be a sacred act to bring life, so we can ultimately pass on the knowledge and wisdom [etc etc] to the generations younger than us. now, sex is hardly ever thought of in such a way. it's often associated with evil, damnation and shame. sex is now mostly just an act out of lust, to benefit your own purposeless pleasure. yes, sex isn't always about that, so why make it? why go around trying to get laid for the sake of it? why make it your purpose?

sorry if i offended you by saying 'no ambition'. that wasn't exactly aimed at you, so you didn't need to justify yourself. it was more aimed at the idea that you should change yourself just to get laid. and if you are one of those people, then have fun. ultimately, if that is how you choose to live your life, then fine, it's your life to live. and if that's your view on sex, then i can do nothing to change it.

And on your views of sex, you can't just nullify the validity of someone elses points by saying "But it's not like that". The fact is, for them, and most of the population, it IS like that.

i never really thought that sex could be linked to intellectual inability or anything. but how would i know, i'm certainly not qualified to make an informed judgement. i wonder if there are any more examples?

[EDIT: and even then, sex isn't needed to continue our species. there's all this in virtro fertilisation stuff - or whatever it's called - where they take the sex cells of each parent and combine them in a test tube (?), and when it's fertilisated, they insert it into the woman's womb, where the embyro continues to grow normally until it's born]

taken in context, some would die of/from
- boredom
- lack of exercise [hey, i heard that sex gives a full body exercise, or was like aroebics...or something. can't remember]
- stress?
- a sudden boost in morality [quote: if electricity comes from electrons, then does morality come from morons? ahaha...heard it on www.bored.com i think, can't remember now. that has nothing to do with what i'm saying...just thought it was funny....ok, i'm lame]
- lack of purpose in life
