This has happened to a few other people's computers and I normally ignore it and just lol and leave.

Well it's happened to this computer. I swear to god I'm pretty sure it's from the boys in this household looking up porn or some shit.

I keep getting pop ups saying along the lines of "LOL YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED FREE SCAN CLICK HERE" and "LOL HERE IS SOME GAY PORN" and "LOL CUTE CUMSHOTS" and inundation of porn popups.

I've ran ad-aware and I've full scanned this comp, and my anti-virus software's pretty upset, going "shit man I have trojan horses everywhere".

Whaddo-i-do.

I don't think it's Spyware or Trojans. It would be a good idea to download CCleaner; it's a program that deletes all internet browsing history, cookies etc...

Cleans the following:
  • Internet Explorer Cache, History, Cookies, Index.dat.
  • Recycle Bin, Temporary files and Log files.
  • Recently opened URLs and files.
  • Third-party application temp files and recent file lists (MRUs).
Including: Firefox, Opera, Media Player, eMule, Kazaa, Google Toolbar, Netscape, Office XP, Nero, Adobe Acrobat, WinRAR, WinAce, WinZip and more...
  • Advanced Registry scanner and cleaner to remove unused and old entries.
Including File Extensions, ActiveX Controls, ClassIDs, ProgIDs, Uninstallers, Shared DLLs, Fonts, Help Files, Application Paths, Icons, Invalid Shortcuts and more... Backup for registry clean.
  • Windows Startup tool.

It's also free.

After you've used the above program, complete a free online Trojan/Virus/Spyware scan @ http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

I use it too and I never use to have problems. I've been in Byron Bay the last few days and let the rest of my household use this computer.

Never again. Pretty sure it's been used for porn. Pretty pissed off right meow :(

I use the firewall to block internet explorer (iexplore.exe) hence rendering the popups useless.

I recommend Firefox with IE Tab, this is neat as it can display through your normal internet explorer but the internet communication is through firefox (if u know what i mean).

because of garage band?

pc's arent bad too, you can load cubase on it and then shove in a $500 soundcard or something. Trickier on a mac.

but they look all arty and cool tho i guess, but for home recording studio type stuff it's meh.

also, go into safe mode while you do your scans, it'll get all that crap to piss off and stop reloading itself once you remove it while your scanning.
