Coldplay- definately, I listen to it all the time. Currently I listen to the Scientist, the line "nobody said it was easy" kinda relate to me at the moment.
Other than that I listen to em when I'm down as it reminds me of concerts I've been to and stuff.
Also Linkin Park works too...song like Numb, Breaking the Habit, and From the Inside.

A lot of radiohead songs tend to work, dunno if that's been mentioned already, also fade to black and nothing else matters by metallica, and porch by pearl jam (especially the part near the end).

i really like eddie vedder when he did you've got to hide your love away (although it wasnt the best cover from the album i still liked it) and a live song he did with ben harper and neil finn - world where you live.
