I've read a guide on the Board of Studies site before, about certain special examination provisions offered to students with illness/disabilities, and what exactly they are.

I'm having trouble finding it at the moment, and was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of what I'm looking for....?

Note: I'm talking about Special Provisions here, not Illness and Misadventure Forms.

There's a guide with a list of certain illnesses and things, and the provisions offered in the case of each.

If your a class of 06er, you need to apply by April 06
People doing the HSC this year cannot apply for them anymore, as they closed in April this year.

Talk to your school and tell the doctors that you don't want to take their meds anymore. Do a 30 mins walk a day- walk home from the station or something, and I guarantee that you'll feel better by the HSC.

About special provisions, talk to your school.

I do walk that much a day - it does nothing. If anything it just makes me more tired :p

No, unless you get your internal mark as your external. You can get a provision which means that your external mark becomes your internal mark if the exam mark is lower, in which case, they say on your record. (I assume you mean your BOS certificate...)

In what kind of cases would that be offered? *curious*

In a case where you were unfairly disadvantaged during the actual exam, but not not really before that.

Say you broke your hand or something. Generally, you need a GP, a specialist (radiologist) and a school representative to back you up.

It's kind of like a misadventure application, but on the long-term. Misadventure can be applied for right befor ethe exam, but internal-marks-counting (whatever it's called) is generally applied for about a week or two before.

I also have OCD and thats why i got special provisions. I got extra time and sometimes a reader or writer as my hand writing was terrible! luckily, im on a good medication now and ive just picked up as i got older (OCD usually gets better and easier to deal with with age, so good luck) I also have tourette syndrome, and both these things feed off anxiety, which doesnt help during exams.

Do you have a teacher who deals with these things? at my school we had special needs teacher, who helps with all that stuff. she came to me and kept asking me about provisions during the hsc, but i dont need it now, though i understand how hard it can be. My brother is going through the same thing, ends up only writing one answer in exams and leaves the rest, hes in year 11 and has the same as me, tho his is more concentration and effort related.

Anyway, there are forms you need to fill out, and you need to do a test to see how extreme your needs are. Its basically a reading/writing test. You have to read stuff off a sheet to someone and write some stuff down and basic puzzle solving things. You HAVE to do these if you want special provisions (so they can see anyone who may be cheating the system and the extent of someones problems)

Oh, and you also have to have a doctors certificate i believe, to 'prove' that you have indeed been proven to have what you say you have.

Best of luck and anymre q's jsut PM me, or type it here
Told you i was an expert ^^

I use a computer during most exams (bar maths), under the 'special provisions' offered by the BOS. I write extremely slowly and messily, because of a condition I have with my nerves, which means i'm entitled to extra time and the use of a computer/scribe.

You would have to ask your careers advisor about it (at school), as they'd know what to do if you need any special provisions.
