Speculative Fiction Essay Crisis (1 Viewer)

Hi!

I'm in dire need of some suggestions and pointers.
I'm usually really good with Essay writing, but our half yearly's are coming up in about 2 weeks and I have no idea what im meant to write about Genre and Speculative Fiction. I tried look at past responses but i spent more time trying to translate scribble than actually focusing on what is being said...
If someone could give me a brief outline of what needs to be said that would be great

Is this on the right track?

Define Genre
Define Speculative fiction
Focus on subgenres of texts being used (eg Fantasy being used for LOTR, Space Opera/ Sci Fi for Dune as well as texts of own choosing)

But then i don't know what im trying to say about each...
With advanced english u kinda have the language feature thing which proves presence of certain arguments you make. I just don't know where to go with this essay

you have to discuss the conventions of the genre
the things that relate it back to spec fic

As Sweety Pie12 said, you need to focus on the conventions and how each text relates to them. I would probably focus on three of them, such as Dystopia, technology and whatever else you wish to.
