Is anyone here doing speeches? If you are, which speech do you think they'd choose for us to refer to, if they choose one?

i have a strong feeling they may specify Aung San Suu Kyi's speech, because she's been in the news a lot this year

It's not going to be Lincoln, as that was last year's speech they specified. I hope this year the choice will be open. I come to that conclusion because there's a pattern.

2001: Open choice (teacher told me)
2002: Lincoln
2003: ???

lol.. how funny (well.. unfunny) would it be if they didnt specify at all.. they were jus giving everyone the heebie jeebies last year... (cmon.. at least keep up the hope!)

i think keating or king. (i doubt suukyi.. they wouldn't be that cruel would they???? =P)

teachers have said that it was open choice in 2001 because that was the first year the topic was introduced, hence they weren't as mean yet... they were kind of just testing it out.

I hope it is Kyi's speech, because there is so much crap in it which is easy to write about.

It may be too much to hope for an open choice, but they'll most likely prescribe only one.

i hope its not keating..cuz its sooo limited..... the king one has a more divergent theme base...hence can suit more candidates...

hey guys,

my teacher said that the two that have been previously specified in the HSC are Lincoln, and Martin Luther King! So i don't have much hope of him being specified again...damn!

I really hate pearson, Cicero, and Socrates! Its so hard to totally and fully grasp what they are saying!!! Keating is good, but he doesnt link to the others very well. I think i will just like, write a little bit on the one i dont know well (if they specify one) and heaps on the ones i have chosen.

What speeches are you guys going to be doing in depth???
