Okay, so today i was driving and was exiting from a round about when i saw a cop parked at the side of the road with a camera on the car.
When i checked my speedo i was probably going 54-58km/h (i forgot what it was because im so freaking paranoid!). I don't mind paying for the fine if i get ticket but i'm worried that i will have to restart my L's "period" (i.e. do another 6 months). What would happen in this case?

PS: I was probably 1-3 metres behind another car

EDIT: limit was 50

speeding on your Ls, well, unless the cop is a dickhead they overlok it, afterall, u arent pose 2 no how 2 drive yet. and if they is sumthin over it u can appeal on those grounds.

but, as the cop didnt book u on the spot nothing is likely to happen.

^ Likewise, I think if they didnt pull you over straight away you're fine..

And wasn't the rule that your supervising driver cops it?

Who cares, it's nothing to be worried about =]

So they can't even take your number plate down and then send you the fine in the mail?

Well speedos on regular cars have a buffers of about 4km/h-5km/h.
50-55km/h is nothing in a 50 zone. There is a small leeway.

Just as a point of interest,
In NSW you CANNOT be fined whilst on L-plates, you can only be charged, but you can be charged with ANY offence under the various acts.
