AAARGH. okay. Changing the manufacturer's splash screen!?

How where what? Sure I could just replace the image and leave the filename the same and it would boot differently, but what is the ACTUAL way in which yew change it? which script/config/settings/whatever/penis?

huh, do you mean the Windows Boot Screen?, If so, I was a customiser and I've used StyleXP (it worked fine for me) by TGTsoft.

No. I don't mean the boot screen.

I mean the manufacturer's splash screen
In between the boot screen and xp logon screen.

And yes, I also use StyleXP.

my best bet would have been to use stylexp, but that doesnt do it i guess.

Is it really that important to get rid of the splash?

Yes, seeing as the machines are for business use.

And i've figured it out anyway.
Start > Run > regedit
HKEY_USERS > .DEFAULT > Control Panel > Desktop

Change value for "Wallpaper" to the new image path.
