help me out. i'm too lazy to search around.

so hook me up with some kickass programs or something similar.

me-not-so-smart-brother downloaded some naughty files (program cracks) and made my computer go kookoo (popups).

now it really doesn't bother me since i'm hardly on the pc anymore, but i just want to get the prick off my back. ;)

i've done the good ol' "ad-aware + spybot s&d + housecall.trendmicro.com scan's" and it's removed all it can find. but there is still more.. out there.

so friends, lend me your programs so i can get rid of this bullcrap!

or if you've got a bettter way besides programs / formatting, please do share.

try downloading PrevX, it automatically stops functions which are not already programmed. Or try using NetNannt on your brother, so then he wont be able to view anything, if you log on as different users only allocate NetNanny for your bro.

Download HijackThis, scan and save log, then paste your log into a new post, and I'll take a look for you =)

two things;

lavasoft's ad-aware

spybot search & destroy.

:)

thanks for pointing that out. if you've bothered to read the thread, you'd have realized that i've used those two programs already :p

but anyway, king of bordedom you should also try 'housecall.trendmicro.com' and do a full complete scan. :) those 3 used to work like a charm for me!

I tried History Kill and pop up blocker.

history kill gives you a 14 day trial. so I suppose you can keep downloading it.

This spyware crap had me nuts. It even got a trojan on my computer.

I've done so many net searches and rarely is there free downlaods. go to download.com for free stuff.

you always got to pay for the good stuff.

anyone know of any free registry cleaners?
