Yeah I saw that too, I honestly dont know either, it seems a lot better due to price etc.. but not sure how it actually compares in terms of life/reliability... since intel ones have a reputation for being reliable.

sandisk are known to have their faults

great reviews all round and is generally accepted as one of the better SSD's

the intel one isn't too far behind though (i don't think)

I've been considering an SSD recently, think I'll wait until they become bigger and cheaper though.
For all I'd use it for I can't really justify it atm.

that's a pretty decent chart

i actually don't have an SSD in my current built (was already way too over budget) but will probably get one soon. i've heard that once you get an SSD, there's no going back

if it were me, i'd stay away from SSD's as they have such a high rate of failure compared to HDDs.

It dies suddenly too not like a HDD where usually you know if something's wrong with rattles, whines and weird noises.

But SSD reliability have improved over the last few years dramatically.

Resonable, but the specs of the 480GB version are hopeless if you take a look at them. The 240GB seems the best out of them.

I'll probably end up buying one sooner or later, I feel there's a need for me now, which wasn't there when I built the system.

240gb for what lol?

you don't put everything on your SSD, just windows and a fewish games

unless you feel you REALLY need 240gb, don't waste your money

Even that would still be far too small for a lot of people's Steam folders I suspect.

Yeah you only put OS and a few apps you use.

i wouldn't really put in games there as it wouldn't make that much of a difference... for most games anyway.

Nah not going to put any games on it. OS, some apps such as photoshop etc... and will be storing photos, video files on it while editing then moving to the HDD. Otherwise it's way too slow, the comp just can't keep up with a mechanical HDD.
