It is best to just do what makes you comfortable. I had lots of secondary info too, i found it really useful to go through my primary research and then finding trends in that use my secondary research to support it.
You deffinetly need chapters. It helps to break down the process and as as said before makes it less intimidating. Well it did for me anyway. It also helps you be not so all over the place.
