Sam, how'd you find the exam? I have German Continuers tomorrow which should be pretty ok. I thought it wasn't bad, apart from the fact I didn't have enough time for the BNW/BR question which I did last. Had to cut back on so many points I wanted to raise to finish properly. argh...

It also pisses me off when people write 58 billion pages per essay. Crap, I actually can't physically write over 5 pages... I write 18 words per line and around 25 words per minute. It would be easier typing....

Oh ok so if I didn't explicitly detail the quote in the opening I'm not screwed. haha I discussed its underlying themes and more in detail later on.

IF U DIDNT MENTION IT AT THE START UR NOT GONNA GET ABOVE BAND 4

STICK TO ESL AND GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY

i blv ur wrong, a starting point refers 'as a stimulus material' to drive ur view on the transformation of texts. you didn't have to mention it...or might have anyway if it was a part your discussion anyway

already posted this in another thread.. but anyway

"Using the extract below as a starting point, analyse"

I took it to mean use the quote as a starting point for comparing the two texts

i think the determining factor is going to be the comparitive study which "invites consideration of humanity's connection with the world"

if you answered the question you will have implicitly referred to the quote

the quote wasn't the essence of the essay, it was a comparitive study
