Around what mark would give me a state rank for Physics, Chem or Bio?

It really depends on the difficulty of the final exam.
I would say 97+ for phys and chem. Not sure about bio

Can you explain the difference between internal assessment marks and external marks?

I'm a bit confused.

Well to put it basically, internal is all the stuff you do at school that goes towards your HSC. The external is the actual HSC exam, worth 50% of the whole mark.

Would I have to basically get 100 for my internals and externals?

I.e, to get a 99 in Ext. 1 Mathematics, would I have to get 98/100 for Internals and 100/98 for externals?

Ur internal moderated mark depends on ur externals too..

Yeh basically all the state rankers for mx1 get 100 in their final.
Tbh your aim shouldnt be to state rank, it should be to achieve a certain mark.

like for example last year 2nd in physics and 3rd in physics both got 97 hsc mark and 95 raw mark so they had to take it down to a decimal place. P.S 1st was way ahead with 99 hsc mark..probs like 97-98 raw (fuark)..

Usually 97 for each of the subjects you listed.

97 hsc mark for chemistry was the minimum, 1st in the state is ~99.
