Paraphrasing and quoting

Incorporating quotes into your essay.

Let's say that you are commenting on a pharaoh's relationship with the gods.
The inscription on the hypostle hall at karnak depicts the link between Ramses II with the god Amun, "dedicated to his father, Amun" (Breasted). This emphasises the continued elevation of Amun from the Amarna peirod and Ramses establishing himself as equal with the gods. (well not exactly sophisticated writing but do you understand?)

Oh and paraphrasing is easy. Here are some introductions to paraphrasing.

Tacitus states that Tibeirus' reign was a very scary one.
Or Suetonius claims that Augustus gave his power back to the Senate.
See? Its easy! You are not directly quoting what they are saying just altering the wording a lil :)

hope this helped u
