Hey Bos,
Can anyone tell me if I am understanding this section of the handbook correctly? I'm currently studying comm/eco at unsw.

The section in the handbook writes, " Note on possible substitutes:
ECON1202 The following courses are adequate substitutes: MATH1031 or MATH1131 or MATH1141 or MATH1151.ECON1203 The following course is an adequate substitute:MATH1041 A student is also entitled to an exemption from the sequence ECON1202 and ECON1203 if s/he has successfully completed any one of the following complete sequences: MATH1131/MATH1231 or MATH1141/MATH1241 or MATH1151/MATH1251."

Does this mean if I successfully complete math1151 and math1251, I don't need to do econ1202 and econ1203?

Later on, if the subject course( eg ECON2101) has econ1202 or econ 1203 as a prerequisite, if I successfully completed math1151 and math1251, I can still do that course?

Yes to both questions. For the record, completing MATH1251 will make ECON2101 harder to stomach, since you will have all these nice methods for maximising/minimising multi-variable functions but 2101 will just want you to blindly throw some partial derivatives into a ratio and assume it works.
