a bit late, and i know you picked chem, but if there is anyone else who's just as hung up over chem i'd highly recommend it! im doing it accel and its really been the most interesting subject at school like i genuinely look forward to chem lessons

it is (empirically) the best science cos it has overlap with both phys and bio and usually always scales the highest too

I agree, chem is definitely my favourite science so far!
