Does anyone have any recommendations on whether to choose Ancient History or Software Design and Development?

It highly depends on which subject your prefer/have an interest in. You also need to consider academic performance. How do you think you'll perform in Ancient History compared to SDD?

I tend to get full marks for History but I am not sure about how I will go in SDD.

why ancient and not modern? :)

Also, I would say that the marks don't really matter. Choose what's more interesting. Also, the SDD course's name is a bit glorified for what the course entails iirc.

Modern scales higher than ancient. With modern history you learn about more recent historical events (including wars and politics) whereas in ancient history you learn about things like ancient societies.

true. also harder to find sources in ancient and sketchier source analysis.
