as a year 10, i submitted my subjects last week for the partially selective school i want to go: 3u english, math adv, bio, ancient, modern and legal

however, im lowkey worried about the writing, and while i enjoy it a lot i dont know if i can handle so much writing

i wanted to switch visual arts with either legal, ancient or modern (however i feel more passionate to keep ancient but ive heard lots of cons about it), but afraid it might bring down my atar.

which subject should i switch for visual arts, and any visual arts tips?

I don't do or have any knowledge for legal nor ancient but if you like doing ancient I believe you should go for it since it won't bring your atar down if you do really well(I think)
But I think you should double check with the school if you are able to switch your subject on the year. At my school we are able to switch our subject selections to another subject within the first 1-2 weeks of yr 11 (ONLY IF THAT OTHER SUBJECT IS ON OUR RESERVE)

I also recommend that you search the HSC past papers from previous years on the official website, resource, ands anything that will help you gauge or see a sneak peak of whether you are into the content of that subject or not. You can even ask friends in the grades above you to show you any of their trial papers or assessments from those subjects.
