Did 2 pages of working but there is maybe a quicker way to the solution:

You could do multiple steps instead of just 1 or 2 steps when writing out a new line

Also, @RachelGreen, we call this type of substitution a trigonometric substitution. Although we could give it to a MX1 student, it is only specifically examined in MX2.
