Sulphate Anion presence in water...why?? even the vaugest idea would help!! (1 Viewer)

I have looked absolutely ANYWHERE that might in the slightest chance tell me why or why there wouldnt be sulphate in a water sample and have found jack shit. Is there anyone at all that has even the vaugest idea to reasons behind sulphate presence.

Acid rain can react and produce sulfate, Sulfate used in some fertilisers?? Pesticides? umm, Natural salt content of the Ocean/Water Bodies. Sulfate reducing bacteria. (Shipwrecks)
