Thanks for filling it it.

It means that has something your teacher has done influenced your socialisation? EG; were you teased because a teacher praised you...etc.

My teacher wrote that question and I myself didn't really understand it, but she said it was a good question to ask...

Anyway, thanks heaps.

What has influenced your decision? Tick those factors that have influenced you:
-Teachers
-Family

-Culture
-Other- I want it for myself

2. Has any teacher affected your choice of friends?
No.

3. Has any teacher been a mentor to you? Not exactly, but I have a few teachers that have told me that I can talk to them at any time and are heaps helpful.

4. Have any of your teachers helped you decide on your future career? My mother is a teacher - she deterred me from becoming one because of the workload they have. It's so not worth it.

5. Have you had as negative expericne with a teacher which has turned you off studying a certain subject?
No.

6. What positive experience's have you had with a teacher that has influenced your subject choices for the senior years at school?
I had the best Japanese teacher. She made our classes so much fun and she created the best environment - but she's gone now, and I dropped it (not because she left though). I also have a fantastic Maths teacher, because she genuinely cares and has so much passion for maths. She makes maths less of a chore to go to.

7. Has the influence of a teacher impacted on your socialisation with yout peer group at school?
E.G:
No.

What has influenced your decision? Tick those factors that have influenced you:

-Teachers
-Family
-Culture

2. Has any teacher affected your choice of friends?

No. Teachers don't have much input in what friends i choose to hang around with.

3. Has any teacher been a mentor to you?

No, they are teachers, i believe they teach you what they know about the course materials/syllabus, and not what's encompassing our personal life.

4. Have any of your teachers helped you decide on your future career? Explain.

Definitely. most of my teachers showed me what tertiary education can offer you later in life. they gave me a vicarious experience of what uni life is like and all the facinating things it offers. (like Science at uni)

5. Have you had as negative expericne with a teacher which has turned you off studying a certain subject?

Yes. i hated engineering studies. my teacher can't teach...i still blame him or my band 3 results till today.:(

6. What positive experience's have you had with a teacher that has influenced your subject choices for the senior years at school?

Senior years are the best! My Biology teacher has gone out he's way to make sure we understand everything that is required of us. he went beyond his duty and teach us during the holiday at school. I will never forget that!

7. Has the influence of a teacher impacted on your socialisation with yout peer group at school?
E.G:
-By praising you
-Humiliating you
-Putting you up as a role model

please rephrase this question. I'm kind of confused. I'm sure people will give you better answers if you construct a better, and clearer questions for them to answer. otherwise people are just going to put "NO" as their answers.

-Teachers
-Family
-Peers
-Media

-Culture
-Other - It's something that i just need to do.

2. Has any teacher affected your choice of friends?
Yes/No.
Explain: No. I make my own decisions, and if i think someone is cool to hangout with, than i will, regardless of anybody elses opinion

3. Has any teacher been a mentor to you? Explain: Yeah some of my better techers sort of "inspire" me, at times.

4. Have any of your teachers helped you decide on your future career? Explain: No, i'm still undecided on a career path

5. Have you had as negative expericne with a teacher which has turned you off studying a certain subject? Yes/No: Yes, some teachers just have really unlikable personalities, so i don't really like them, so sometimes i won't even go to that class

6. What positive experience's have you had with a teacher that has influenced your subject choices for the senior years at school?
My choices in subjects, were made on consultation with my family and friends. Some of my teachers are great, but i the experiences that we had, didn't effect my choices.

7. Has the influence of a teacher impacted on your socialisation with your peer group at school?
E.G:
-By praising you
-Humiliating you - sometimes, it makes me the negative centre of attention
-Putting you up as a role model - sometimes, this results in unwanted sarcasm from friends

1. Do you wish to pursue tertiary education?
Yes. Teachers, Family, Peers. Culture

2. Has any teacher affected your choice of friends?
No. No teacher has told me who to be friends with and who not to be. It's not really their position to tell you what to do socially, mainly it's your parent's responsibility.

3. Has any teacher been a mentor to you?
Yes. My yr 9/10 English teacher was a great inspiration and would talk to us individually about our work and he veen made us do a practice HSC paper (He's head teacher of english) and my business studies for this yr is also the head teacher and he too does the same

4. Have any of your teachers helped you decide on your future career? Explain.
No, not really. I actually thought of it myself b/c usually they first ask you what you want to be and then they encourage you to do the things needed to go into that career path. They let the you do the decision.

5. Have you had as negative experience with a teacher which has turned you off studying a certain subject?
No, not really

6. What positive experience's have you had with a teacher that has influenced your subject choices for the senior years at school?
yes, with my english teacher he asks us to choose whether we want to do advanced or english and after we've chosen our subject he then speaks to us individually about it, whether it was the right level for us, regarding our final marks. I'm not really sure if that is a positive experience.

7. Has the influence of a teacher impacted on your socialisation with your peer group at school?
E.G:

-By praising you - even though I was considered more "nerdy" at the beginning of high school and receiving praises from teachers, it didn't make any difference to who I made friends with.

-Humiliating you - nope

-Putting you up as a role model - yes, usually get letters from the principal saying how hard I've worked in the first semester and considering me as a good role model for others.....

-other - nope

overall, the influence, of any teacher, did not have an impact on my socialisation with my peer group.

1. Do you wish to pursue tertiary education? Yes
What has influenced your decision? Tick those factors that have influenced you:
-Teachers
-Family
-Peers
-Other: Idols/Heroes/Celebs -> people i look up to and wanna be like
me -> what i wanna be when i grow up

2. Has any teacher affected your choice of friends?
No
Explain: I suppose in primary school it might have. But now, at my age, I choose my own friends. However, in subjects like drama, u get put into groups and so you have to make friends outside ur own friendship circle.

3. Has any teacher been a mentor to you? Explain.
Yes, my last year s&c teacher, she was cool, basically her stories were cool and she was a great teacher.

4. Have any of your teachers helped you decide on your future career? Explain.
Um, Yes, I'm such a confused individual, and i guess talking to them has given me another perspective. Like when we had a student teacher, he did a course i was interested in doing at uni and it was good to talk to someone who is doing what i wanted to do to give insight.

5. Have you had as negative expericne with a teacher which has turned you off studying a certain subject?
Yes, ive had cruddy maths teachers, and so i hate the subject and dont care about.

6. What positive experience's have you had with a teacher that has influenced your subject choices for the senior years at school? actually now that i think about it. if one of the teachers who was cool stayed at our school i would have chosen physics

7. Has the influence of a teacher impacted on your socialisation with yout peer group at school?
not in my case, coz im a nothing. But if ur going 2 look at in junior school, the 'cool' people, they used to get into trouble all the time and so, the teachers would single them out and getting into trouble was 'cool'. Similarly the 'losers' were singled out as well.

I want to get somewhere big in life, I would not be able to tolerate being a check out chick my whole life. so i guess i am self motivated

2. Has any teacher affected your choice of friends?
Yes. In primary school when they made me sit with them in class.

3. Has any teacher been a mentor to you? I have teachers that are there for me when I need them, and for that I am thankful

4. Have any of your teachers helped you decide on your future career? Careers advisor. he has helped me simply because that is his job.

7. Has the influence of a teacher impacted on your socialisation with yout peer group at school?
When they get you in trouble, sometime you get seen as a hero. This is not in my self experience though! :p

2. Has any teacher affected your choice of friends?
No. some teachers may suggest like "they are bad- dont hang around them" but if they are not a teacher that you have a good relationship with then i am not going to listen to them. if a teacher i had a good relationship with suggested i didnt hang out with certain peers i may consider their suggestion but i wouldnt change friends or not be friends with them just because a teacher said not to be.

3. Has any teacher been a mentor to you? no not really, but i believe it is only because i havent allowed them to be. it just depends on the personality and attitude of the students/ teachers.

4. Have any of your teachers helped you decide on your future career? yes, i have talked to teachers about future careers and they have suggested certain things and given me confience in doing what i want to do.

5. Have you had as negative expericne with a teacher which has turned you off studying a certain subject?
yeah sort of

6. What positive experience's have you had with a teacher that has influenced your subject choices for the senior years at school?
ive had positive experiences with teachers but that didnt really influence me to choose a particular subject because they were teaching it although i have changed classes because of the teacher!

7. Has the influence of a teacher impacted on your socialisation with yout peer group at school?
nope
