Then I guess the salmon is raw?
I assumed it was like the smoked salmon, which you get from supermarkets, which is all red and soft. Salmon on sushi looks and feels exactly the same.
My dad told me it was cooked, but he may just have been trolling me irl...
I eat a lot of fish, I know fish, but salmon is just a whole other grey area.
LOL
The best way to tell if fish is raw or cooked.. is to try pull it apart
With cooked fish, the meat will fall apart into smaller pieces if you say, prod it.. with smoked salmon, if you hold it and try rip it apart, it will divide in two
However, with raw fish.. it will stay in a chunk.. you pull it.. it stretches.. unless you're holding the ends too tight then you might make a hole in the meat
And with salmon [and most kinds of fish and meats].. when it's cooked, it doesnt seem as see-through.. raw salmon is almost like an orange crystal.. whereas smoked salmon is orangey-white opaque
But yeah.. I play with food
