so ive stumbled onto a metallica live recording cd where they are playing with a symphony orchestra and its epic

SO. can any one suggest any good metal bands / songs, accompanied with an orchestra

you can look into:
Sonata Arctica
Nightwish
Symphony X
Epica
Blind Guardian
Kamelot
Edguy
Iced Earth
Helloween

i agree with most of these, but definitely not dream theatre. i reckon iced earth, edguy and blind guardian are kindof argueable.

and you forgot the most epic symphonic power metal band of them all

RHAPSODY

or otherwise known as rhapsody of fire

that is the fucking epic shit right there.

I'd consider Dream Theatre. imo they have that symphonic touch but it is different compared to the other bands i mentioned :/. but tis up to what exactly an individual is looking for i guess

also, Stratovarious, Angra, Hammerfall, Gamma Ray and Avantasia are some others i remembered :D
