Hey yo everyone,
At uni this semester I decided to do some ancient history and its been kind of tough trying to recall how to write an adequate essay. Well the essay wasn't really the hard part its just I'm kinda confused on how the synopsis would differ from my introduction. Aren't they the exact same thing overall?? Just that the synopsis is more detailed? The guidelines tell me it should be a "clear, connected overview of your paper and communicate what you want to prove and how you get there".
Ok can I say something like... "I'm going to discuss the historians debate using the following historians..." or is it wrong to use first person? Argggg. help!

i had to do an synopsis for my extention history project
and what i remember (and i did well for it) i had to give an overview
of the topic i am dicussing and i had to make specific reference to the historians
that i would use - i also brought in relevent reference to syllabus outcomes etc

so it was a general introduction of the topic that u are doing
then it was a specific reference to the historians and their works
then reference to syllabus outcomes

for the initial introduction it is alright to use the first person then drift out into a
traditional tone.

like launcher169 i had 2 do this for my ext hist project:
-dont use first person, it doesnt look as formal or professional
-speak of what historians etc. you are using
-talk about what methods you used in your arguments (eg. postmodernist deconstruction)
-talk about how your essay addresses the question
-is there a reason behind your choice in sequence of arguments (eg. chronological, leading from concrete fact to intellectual theorising) etc.

dude, why dont u check out the myriad of threads bout this in ext hist forum?
