So I'm doing first-year BPsych at UNSW, but I'm pretty damn sure I don't want to be a Psychologist.

I'm planning to take Program Leave next year, for the whole two semesters and go travelling. It means that I can come back and still have a degree to pick up in 2010 if I haven't experienced an epiphany in regards to what I want to do with my life. :p

I'm not sure, though, if I'm allowed to transfer into another degree (don't know which one, this is all assuming I get a little more perspective during the travelling) when I get back. Of course I'm aware of entry requirements and stuff... I'm not hoping to transfer to Med or anything like that.

Am I allowed to defer the BPsych for a year and then pick up a different degree when I return? (Either at UNSW or otherwise.)

Are there any staff at the Uni I could talk to about it? I've looked all over the UNSW website and can't find contact details for anyone who would know about this sort of stuff.

Thanks a bunch.
