Tax File Number for HELP? (1 Viewer)

SOmewhere amidst the enrolment procedure i was asked to provide details of my TFN to apply for HELP (kinda like HECS)
Where / how do i get a TFN? i never had one before
I know somfin like this takes a few days to get so is there another way to apply for HELP? sometime later maybe

www.ato.gov.au... think tat's the site..i heard u can register online now..LOL....or go to a local tax agent and ask for the application sheet~~takes them 14 workdays to send bak to u

if you dont get it in time, they can issue with a Tax File Number Application Certification. Check if your uni accepts this.

the uni's should accept the application certification.... you will just have to provide them with your TFN asap before the HECS deadline....

It takes 14-28 days to issue a TFN, so apply for one ASAP. You basically have until the end of March to provide the uni with your TFN, especially if you are deferring. It is optional, however they usually make you for satefy reasons, to provide a TFN if you are fully paying your HECS/HELP each semester.
