i applied for a tax file number, but i probly wont get it unitl well after i need it for enrollment, ill most likely get it closer to first day of uni. but i do need it for enrollement, so what do i do?
You can provide your TFN at a later date - they dont expect everyone to have them when they enrol. You have until the 31st of March to provide the uni with your TFN.
They'll stamp your form with a stamp that says "no TFN provided" so I guess you go to the student centre later, you have until the HECS census date of 31st of March to change it.
Never understood why people don't get one through their school. You don't even need any ID if you do it through your school. The principle just says that you are who you say you are. Any school can do it AFAIK.
Anyway, not to worry now, just do as has been said in this thread beforehand.
yeah, don't worry, I didn't have one when I enrolled. Fill in the forms provided, and as Cape says they will stamp your form appropriately. They'll tell you what to do...all it means is that you will have to fill in another form when you get your tax file number and hand it into the student centre before the census date...I was stressing about it on enrolment day too, but I had no problems!
