Hello everyone

Ok hope this is the right section. I need some help as regards to WHEN does the ATO deposit the Tax Return in your account and send you the letter confirming the amount?

I worked for the first time in Australia last year and I'm not so familiar about how all this works! A close friend of mine lodged the tax return online for me after I gave him all my details. Was around the 20th of Oct.

I received the letter from the ATO dated 3rd Nov and today's the 9th but nothing in my account yet. I'm wondering if you guys can please do my a favor check the time lapse bet. the lodging date , date on letter confirming amount, and the date the money was actually credited in your acc?


Any help will be much appreciated. I need some shopping therapy before the finals.

I'm not sure but it might be somewhere on the http://www.ato.gov.au website-

One look reveals;

If all necessary information has been provided and you...

posted your tax return to the Tax Office
6 weeks.

lodged an e-tax return over the internet, or
lodged your tax return through the TAXPACKEXPRESS service
2 weeks.

Tired of waiting, I finally called up the ATO

They are issuing a cheque because a wrong bsb number has been entered Should get it soon. *dance*

Thatz why you should alwayz do yo own tax, never rely on a "friend".
