I dont suck up to teachers, i just leave good impressions on them.

i mean, turning up to 8:00 classes 15 minutes early would give a good impression, right?
I spose so, but that'd never happen with me because i'm never out of bed that early.

Not sure about the teacher's pet thing, but giving the impression to the teacher that ur the best (or one of) in the class is a good strategy. No sucking up needed, just ask smart questions beyond the scope of course / annoy teacher wif questions they cant answer and theyll think ur pro and theyll go "positive marking" when they see ur name on the test paper. probably.

I agree with you!
I don't think most teachers actually have 'pets'. It's just that some students tend to bond better with them than others. This means on a friendly term, not so much in sucking up. Because of this friendliness, others tend to think that the other person is being favoured. Of course, one cannot rule out that favouritism doesn't happen.

ok, some people do suck up to them and that's a different story.

My tutor told me that from year 11 and onwards, it's best if you do a major suckup act.

LOL, evil tutor.

ohh sorry underthesun i was referring more to when you ask a question and they give you an answer and you are like "i dont know what you mean because blah blah blah" and if they ask you a question, you answer it and they say no and then you stick up for yourself as to why you are correct, or if they are explaining something and you question what they are saying explaning how you dont think that could be because bah blah blah and if they explain something and you ask "but why" kind of thing because you want reasons rather than just facts
