Which brand of textbooks should i buy for prelim year 11 maths ext 1

i just bought an excel japanese + maths ext 1 books to help with my stuggles at school, but the problem is most of the stuff in the maths book won't be taught at my school and its only a few chapters long, any other book i should buy...maybe the general maths one?

on a side note, is it worth buying books for other subjects yet? (doing chemistry, biology, economics as well)

I found that orange one by K.E.Couchman was good, and why would you buy the general book if you're doing ext 1?

i personally reccomend leading edge for economics. some ppl dont like the style but check it out and then decide. the prelim eco is abit long winded and wordy but the hsc one is good

I recommend the following books for the following subjects:
Mathematics 2U & Extension 1- Fitzpatrick, Cambridge and Maths in Focus as the explanations are a lot clearer
Chemistry - Chemistry Contexts
Economics - Leading Edge and Tim Riley
Business Studies - Jacaranda

We use Jim Coroneos at school for 2 and 3 unit maths. I don't really like this textbook because everything isn't spaced out, making it difficult to understand.

I recommend Cambridge and Maths in Focus.

And for Economics, we use Leading Edge which is concise and easy to understand.

well, the maths ext 1 i have right now, barely covers all the topics i'll be learning at school for the whole year.

lucky me at my school i got the leading edge 2004 while others got the crummy old editions ^_^-b

our school dosen't offer business studies, so i'll ignore that recommendation.

Also for Chemistry, Chemistry Pathways is good as well.

Oh and the surfing series are excellent.

I'm tutoring somebody with maths in focus. And I can tell you without a doubt that book is the reason they need tutoring

chem : conqering / mac revision guide
biology: jacaranda / Biology in context

i think you should save your moeny for year 12 for book. for year 11, i think that the text book your school gives you is enough for foundation work. when you get to year 12, i think its best for you to get your information and notes from a range of sources. wait till us 04ers are done and you can buy our textbooks ;)

Why not do questions from past exam papers instead?
