Hey people
ive been hearing mixed messages about what textual integrity is and how much we're supposed to spend on it

first someone told me "king lear's got textual integrity because its 400 years old and we still read / act it."

another person told me its about how the play is structured/ language features?

how much are we supposed to spend on it?

my teachers have told me 1/3 context + reception 2/3 own reading
so where should i add textual integrity?

Firslty don't use maths to decide how you structure your time or answers, this is an english course not a maths course. Secondly their is no right amount of time as such to spend on each part of King Lear, try and understand as much as possible. Textual integrity is the use of language forms features and structures to form a coherent whole. Basically the language and features of the text, such as its structure, are appropriate and communicate meaning well. I hope that helps.
