obviously agree that we aren’t gonna do anything about it as australians but they’re definitely not both the same, there are huge differences in environment policy, tax policy, foreign policy irrespective of which candidate you agree with more. exact same logic applies in australian politics as well no matter your beliefs there’s always a better candidate and there are material differences between parties
you have your views I have mine 🤝

they're both bad candidates. whats your point.
This logic is like being forced to receive either a choice of a paper cut or medieval torture. Both are painful options. But if ur spine ripped in half and joints were pulled apart you’d be wishing u chose the former.

Kamala, like every person, has her own personal and political flaws. However, if she lost the election fairly she wouldn’t deny it, she wouldn’t attempt an insurrection of congress, she also doesn’t have 34 indictments, and doesn’t aspire to use the military against the ‘enemy within’ (political opponents). In other words her flaws aren’t unique to her, and are shared by the majority of elected officials. They may ‘both be bad candidates’ but her faults are still worlds apart from Trump’s and it would be dishonest to equate them like that.

LMAOOO HELP THIS IS BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY???
idc if u don't think that harris' and trump's crimes are on the same scale bc u could literally argue the opposite w/ the amt of war crimes harris has contributed to (and so has trump!). and yes if it came to it i wouldn't vote for either of them, id vote for dr jill stein. posing this "if ur spine ripped in half" scenario is so funny to me bc that's never the case 💀
u have a blessed day ml bisous bisoussss <333

1. Hillary supporters (Democrats who are now Kamala supporters) and major democrats including politicians literally denied Trump's victory in 2016 being fair by falsely claiming Russian interference. The Democrats also tried to "overthrow" democracy by falsely impeaching him twice.
2. Trump never called for an insurrection, he asked for a peaceful protest, it's not his fault that some decided to storm the capitol. Also, there were several federal assets involved in the "insurrection" like Ray Epps and Nick Fuentes who riled up protestors.
3. As for the 34 indictments - they are formal accusations not convictions. Of course the party who controls the Presidency and DOJ will wage lawfare against a direct threat to their re-election opportunity. Despite all this, did they ever get anything definitive and solid on Trump apart from flimsy charges in biased courts even while controlling the Justice System? That's a testament to Trump's innocence.
4. Trump said he'll use military force against RIOTERS burning up cities and causing havoc. It's also entirely legal and within the scope of law in the United States. Didn't Eisenhower use the military to integrate Little Rock? Would you say that's a problem as well?

Yeah, you're right they are "worlds apart" as candidates. Trump was a solid president while Kamala is a complete disaster on everything ranging from the Southern Border to even sticking to her own policy opinions, she's a major flip floper.

Hazz didn't go around saying cope kamala will win and I respect that he actually made good points without pushing his ideology through insignificant speech. I do not take sides but his argument was more logical and personally made more sense, (also taking into consideration carrotsss argument). Plus most of your points is denying trump allegations and nothing that really pushes me to say trump deserves presidency of the united states, rather your just trying to prove he wasn't a fraud or smth ✌

I didn't say he "deserved" to be president. No one deserves anything, the voters decide at the end of the day. I just disproved the baseless claims made by the guy, I didn't insult him. Only thing I regret is saying "Trump will win, cope", I take that back.

The thing that concerns me the most about current-day American politics is that reality hasn’t quite been as consistent since 2016. It’s like the clocks haven’t quite been ticking at the same time and the sky hasn’t quite been the same colour. It concerns be the fact that a small but vocal minority of Americans believe that we are in a period of deep economic recession, that Zelenskyy is a corrupt salesman and fraud, and that illegal immigrants are literally going around en mass and killing people. In fact, America experienced a speedy recovery post-Covid and has mostly been able to tame inflation down since 2022, no Joe Biden did not start the Russo-Ukraine war, and the average illegal immigrant has a 50% lower crime rate than a U.S. citizen.

However none of this matters to this vocal minority as they will continue to live with their heads in the sand as long as it supports their ignorant world view. What worries me is that there are a large amount of genuine people who believe that the government is so corrupt, mainstream science and academia are so corrupt, the justice system is so corrupt, mainstream media is so corrupt, the electoral system is so corrupt, and even the former VP Mike Pence is so corrupt, that the only man that can revive the corpse of dying America is the benevolent and saintly billionaire Donald Trump.

Especially in this election it worries me two of the growing gaps in voter patterns is gender, and education, whereas these were relatively stable in previous elections. This small minority continues to divide society into two categories: ‘real Americans’, and ‘the libs’, in which no economic, educational, or political policy could possibly matter more than the sensation of ‘owning the libs’ for one more election. Where elections should be about policy and character for the job, they have instead become a black and white moral crusade for the humiliation of another group.

Why do I care about any of this shit?

Because I’m worried this mentality is coming to Australia, and that we’ll start to these stupid loyalty tests, policies based of false pretences, and a growing voter demographic divide in our own country. In spite of American influence, we are a country that has been able to achieve a relative sense of social trust and good-faith civic engagement, as evident by our high levels of vaccine turnout in 2021. However if this stupidity crosses the pacific then our politics could become ever more toxic and our quality of life could suffer because of it.

More specifically, I’m talking about this. The ACT Young Liberals just proposed a bunch of new ‘loyalty test’ laws, including tax cuts for people with Australian flags, putting Christianity into the constitution, creating an ‘oath of allegiance’ for school students, and setting immigration to zero for the next five years. This sounds very MAGA to me. I’m proud to say that we are a country where politicians accept the results of elections, people will get vaccinated when they are asked, and will treat fellow Australians with respect regardless of ethnicity. However all of that could fall by the wayside if this crap comes across our shore. That’s what worries me.

Also Trump’s tariffs and Putin/anti-NATO sympathies don’t seem good for the world order and Australia’s export revenue. Maybe that’s just me.

Anyhow typing this was funner that studying sor2 so good chat.
